Merve Altınay is a versatile intellectual property lawyer with strong expertise in both enforcement and prosecution. She advises leading global and domestic companies across pharmaceuticals, life sciences, technology, consumer goods, and retail, helping them protect, enforce, and commercialize their intellectual assets in Turkey and internationally.
Her practice spans high-stakes IP disputes, where she represents clients in patent and trademark infringement, invalidation, and unfair competition proceedings. She regularly coordinates large-scale enforcement actions, negotiates coexistence agreements, and secures distinctive rights against infringers. Having acted on both sides of complex cases, she combines sharp litigation strategy with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
Merve also has extensive experience in prosecution and portfolio management. She manages global trademark portfolios, devising customized filing, opposition, and prosecution strategies that address the dynamics of each market.
She has developed strong regulatory expertise, particularly in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food supplements, advertising, and product liability, as well as advising employers on employee inventions and related compensation structures.
Merve’s work has been recognized internationally by IAM Patent 1000 (Next Gen), Legal500 (Leading Associate), WTR 1000 (Bronze – Individuals: Enforcement and Litigation), and IP Stars (Rising Star).
She is an active member of AIPPI, serving as a Young Member in the Turkish group and as part of the Enforcement Standing Committee internationally.
