Atakan focuses on commercial transactions and litigation. He assists clients during Turkish investments and share purchases, as well as supports with day-to-day commercial legal issues. Atakan also has experience helping clients during commercial litigation and criminal lawsuits, including allegations of business crimes and unfair competition. He has also supported with human rights-related issues, such as applications to the European Court of Human Rights.
Atakan assists to draft lawsuit petitions before the commercial courts, particularly focusing on issues such as unfair competition and inheritance law conflicts. He supports clients with regulatory compliance issues related to privacy and data protection, including research during compliance projects, day-to-day support with client questions, as well as helping to prepare data inventories and other compliance documents for clients.
Atakan helps to structure corporate documents for company incorporations, as well as prepares a range of day-to-day corporate governance documents. For instance, the general assembly or board of directors’ resolutions. He works in project teams during significant corporate transactions like cross-border investments or mergers and acquisitions, supporting due diligence and agreement drafting phases.
He assists in preparing and revising commercial agreements, including a full range of day-to-day contracts. Atakan researches and drafts memoranda for clients, supporting them to understand and navigate Turkish corporate and regulatory compliance issues, obligations or restrictions.
Atakan supports a broad range of domestic and international companies, most notably in the industrial and manufacturing, natural resources, electronics, logistics, and information technologies sectors.
