Derya Kantarcı is an intellectual property and commercial contracts lawyer with experience advising clients on their IP rights, including copyright, trademark, and design rights, on both a contentious and advisory basis.
Derya has gained experience in trademark opposition proceedings before the Turkish Trademark and Patent Office, and acting for clients in proceedings concerning unfair competition, trademarks and design rights before courts. She also handles intellectual property due diligence, licenses and co-existence agreements. In addition, she assists the team in negotiating and drafting IP-related agreements and has worked on a range of copyright and domain name matters.
Derya provides support to a wide array of domestic and international companies, with a particular focus on the technology, food and beverage and fashion sectors. Furthermore, she assists clients with plant breeder’s rights in relation to their IP registrations and infringement matters.
She graduated from Istanbul University in 2022 and has been a member of Istanbul Bar since 2023. She can speak both English and French fluently.
