Moroğlu Arseven wishes to hire an associate with 3 years of regulatory compliance experience. The ideal candidate will work in the regulatory compliance group which is active in a variety of practice areas, particularly in antitrust and competition law and IT law. The ideal candidate should be an enthusiastic team player and should be familiar with a fast-paced environment, consistently displaying a high level of flexibility.

Role description and responsibilities

  • Providing legal advice on antitrust and competition matters and/or IT law, as required in both English and Turkish to the firm’s local or international clients. This advice will be based on both guided and independent legal research and analysis.
  • Actively participating in project teams to support the development and provision of appropriate legal solutions to clients with a full range of issues, including litigation, enforcement, prosecution, investigations and transactions in relation to antitrust and competition law and/or IT law.
  • Working with the team focusing on regulatory compliance on antitrust and competition law issues and/or IT related matters, data privacy issues. The ideal candidate will support the team in answering clients’ day-to-day questions, providing analysis, risk assessments, and executing projects.
  • Drafting and compiling legal memorandums and opinion letters in both English and Turkish.
  • Supporting senior lawyers and partners in negotiating, preparing and/or drafting contracts related to antitrust and competition law and/or technology transactions, cloud-based business models or outsourcing arrangements, payment services and e-money related documents and agreements, licensing agreements, e-commerce and on-line retail marketplace, supply or customer agreements, and other legal documents related to IT law, data and privacy related matters, as required.


  • 3 years of work experience as a qualified Turkish lawyer with a leading local or international law firm, particularly in antitrust and competition law practices or in IT law.
  • Having a deep understanding of the legal, technical and business aspects of existing and trending, developing technologies. The ideal candidate should be able to apply legal considerations to the underlying technology, advising on the regulatory consequences and legal aspects of a given technical approach or framework.
  • Adopting a commercial sense and a practical approach. The ideal candidate should be able to successfully identify and understand complex legal, technical and business issues, while also understanding the wider strategic aims of particular tasks and implement the available legal solutions attributable to the specific case.
  • Graduated from a reputable law school with solid academic records. Having taken part in an LL.M. program in a reputable law school in Turkey or abroad is an advantage.
  • Candidates must be fluent in both written and spoken English. TOEFL and IELTS qualifications are an advantage and so are further foreign language skills. We typically require a TOEFL score of 105 or higher or an IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 or higher.
  • Male candidates should have completed compulsory military services or delayed for a minimum term of two years.
