Turkey’s Council of Judges and Prosecutors has published an announcement (“Announcement”) on the court proceedings regarding the extension of guardianship period within the scope of the measures taken due to COVID-19 pandemic on 13 April 2020.
Within the scope of the Announcement, in order to prevent disadvantaged persons, who are ruled to be restricted or placed under guardianship for any other legal reason, from suffering during the execution of the measures taken within the scope of COVID-19 pandemic, the guardianship renewal procedures will be considered as “urgent works” and carried out without delay for the procedures regarding legal guardians whose guardianship period has expired.
