Share Ekin Sungur specializes in insurance and private pension law, financial services, data protection law, e-commerce, and AML/MASAK compliance. She advises local and multinational clients including insurance and reinsurance companies, banks, financial institutions, corporate insurance intermediaries, agents, and brokers on regulatory compliance, commercial operations, and dispute management.
In addition to legal advisory services, Ekin Sungur designs and delivers corporate training programs for companies operating in regulated sectors, with a particular focus on strengthening the capabilities of legal and compliance teams.
She also provides strategic advice on the identification of companies’ insurance needs, the structuring of tailored insurance solutions, and the legal design of insurance programs in line with clients’ risk profiles. Her practice covers traditional insurance distribution channels including reinsurance models, brokerage, agency, and bancassurance as well as alternative distribution models, embedded insurance structures, and remote and digital sales processes.
Ekin Sungur further advises on the development of insurance products, the structuring of coverage frameworks aligned with corporate needs, and represents clients before regulatory authorities in application, audit, and investigation processes. Within this scope, she supports the design of compliance models under the Turkish Data Protection Law (KVKK) and secondary legislation.
She also provides legal support in pre-audit and due diligence processes conducted before and during initial public offerings and strategic transactions, ensuring alignment with investor expectations and public disclosure obligations.
Ekin Sungur served for many years as a principal member and rapporteur of the Legal Committee of the Insurance, Reinsurance and Pension Companies Association of Türkiye, where she played an active role in initiatives aimed at the development of insurance legislation. Following her experience at leading domestic and international law firms, she worked at Akkök Holding and subsequently served for over a decade as Legal Director at BNP Paribas Cardif Türkiye group companies.
She has continued her professional practice under Ekin Sungur Law Office since 2021 and, as of February 2026, continues her career as a Partner at Moroğlu Arseven Law Firm.
During her in-house counsel career, she was listed in Legal 500’s GC Powerlist: Central & Eastern Europe.
Ekin Sungur was awarded the Bourse d’Excellence scholarship by the French Government and obtained her DEA (LL.M. equivalent) degree from Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, with a thesis on the law applicable to electronic commercial contracts under private international law and international commercial law. She is a certified mediator specializing in commercial, insurance, and employment law, and is currently registered in the MASAK compliance officer registry process.
