Moroğlu Arseven Partner, Burcu Tuzcu Ersin, acted as a moderator during an interactive workshop titled “Building a Successful Legal Practice in the European Start-up Industry”, chaired by Pablo Vinageras from Garrigues, Barcelona at the 2016 International Bar Association’s European Start-up Conference in London on 16 November 2016. Burcu’s role in the session was to facilitate discussions and offer insights on the role of lawyer in successfully supporting start-up industry and to brief on the outcome of the discussions around the topic.
Burcu also contributed to the Discussions of a European wide group of lawyers structured around a template term sheet and provided insight on recent trends on funding terms and legal practice developed in Turkey around term sheets in early stage financing rounds. The discussions of the group served as the basis of an interactive workshop session on Latest Funding Terms in Europe which was co-chaired by Doron Stern from Tulchinsky Stern Marciano Cohen Leviski & Co, Jerusalem and Felix Blobel from Noerr, Berlin.
The conference considers current trends in the European start-up and growth finance industry, best practices in the supporting of the life of a start-up, creating a successful start-up eco-system and how to build a successful legal start up practice.
Contributors and participants include leading entrepreneurs, venture capitalist, dealmakers, lawyers, investment bankers and all type of investors with first hand experiences with high profile start-up companies and deals. The event offers insight provided by lawyers from around the world, discussing a wide range of legal developments in various jurisdictions.
The conference will be hosted in Level39 in London’s Canary Wharf, Europe’s largest technology accelerator for finance, retail, cyber-security and future cities technology companies.
