The following article gives a summary of decrees by the Council of Ministers and communiqués by the Ministry of Economy regarding prevention of unfair competition in imports, made between 1 August 2017 and 31 August 2017.
Provisional Measures Applied to Fabrics Partially Inflected from Polyester
The Ministry of the Economy has enacted provisional measures due to the ineffectiveness of existing anti-dumping measures for fabrics partially inflected from polyester, imported from a range of countries. The new measures are outlined below.
Communiqué on Safeguard Measures in Imports number 2017/20, which sets forth the provisional measures, was published in Official Gazette number 30144 on 4 August 2017.

Safeguard Measure Extended for Polyester Fibers
A safeguard measure investigation launched and carried out by the Import General Directorate of the Ministry of the Economy concluded that the following implementation periods would apply, extending anti-dumping measures for polyesters under tariff code 5503.20.00.00.00, imported from Iran:
Communiqué on Safeguard Measure in Imports number 2017/9, which sets forth the additional financial Obligations, was published in Official Gazette number 30165 on 25 August 2017, entering into effect on the same day.

Safeguard Measure Imposed on ToothBrush Imports
A safeguard measure investigation launched and carried out by the Import General Directorate of the Ministry of the Economy concluded that the following implementation periods would apply for anti-dumping measures for imported toothbrushes, classified under tariff code 9603.21.00.00.00:
Communiqué on Safeguard Measure in Imports number 2017/10, which sets forth the additional financial Obligations, was published in Official Gazette number 30168 on 28 August 2017, entering into effect on the same day.
