Hilal focuses on intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and domain names. She primarily works on the protection and enforcement of clients’ intellectual property rights through procedures before the TPTO and litigation proceedings. She advises many domestic and international companies, particularly in the automotive, food, fashion, and cosmetics industries, where she develops tailored strategies to safeguard clients’ rights.
Hilal has extensive experience handling trademark registration, opposition, and appeal proceedings before the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. She has been actively involved in high-stakes IP litigation, representing clients in civil and criminal proceedings, including cases concerning trademark infringement, copyright infringement, counterfeiting, and unfair competition.
Beyond litigation, Hilal advises clients on brand protection strategies and market clean-up actions. She plays a key role in negotiations with third parties, ensuring the preservation and enforcement of IP rights through licensing agreements, coexistence agreements, and consent letters.
In addition to her legal practice, she holds an LL.M. in European Intellectual Property and Information Technologies Law from Georg-August Universität Göttingen. She also published her master’s thesis, titled “Can AI Be Confused: AI and the Concepts of the Average Consumer and Likelihood of Confusion”.
