The following article gives a summary of decrees by the Council of Ministers and communiqués by the Ministry of Economy regarding prevention of unfair competition in imports, made between 1 April 2018 and 30 April 2018.

Expiry Revision Investigation Launched for Synthetic Woven Fabric from China

At the request of local manufacturers, the Import General Directorate of the Ministry has initiated an expiry revision investigation regarding imports of woven fabrics of synthetic or artificial staple fibres classified under the tariff codes 55.13, 55.14, 55.15 ve 55.16, imported from the People’s Republic of China.

The investigation was launched by the Communiqué on Prevention of Unfair Competition in Imports number 2018/14, published in Official Gazette number 30397 on 20 April 2018, entering into effect on the same date. Anti-Dumping Duty Will Continue for Pipe Fitting Imported from Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Indonesia, India and Thailand

The Cabinet of Ministry resolved to continue existing definitive measures for pipe fittings imported from Brazil, Bulgaria, the People’s Republic of China, Indonesia, India and Thailand, classified under tariff code 7307.19.

Safeguard Measure Investigation Launched into a Range Imported Flat-Rolled, Rod, Wire, Plate, Bar and Pipe Products

The Import General Directorate of the Ministry has initiated a safeguard measures investigation into imports stated in Annex 1 of the Communiqué on Safeguard Measures in Imports number 2018/3 (“Communiqué”). The investigation will be conducted by the General Directorate and completed within nine months.
