Dr. E. Seyfi Moroğlu and Merve Evrim attended a conference organized by the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) on 12 to 14 March 2015 in Basel, Switzerland, titled “Life Sciences 2.0 – Risks and side-effects of new trends”. The seminar offered an opportunity for in-house and external counsels to share experiences, as well as discuss current legal and business developments.

Seyfi spoke during the conference about manufacturer and distributor liability for clinical information systems, medical applications, and mobile apps.  His presentation was delivered as part of a comparative seminar focusing on, Hungary, Germany, Switzerland, and Turkey. The presenters addressed the legal aspects of these emerging life science trends in their respective countries, as well as under European Law. They presented examples and analysis of case law, as well as local legislative developments.

Established in 1962, AIJA is the only global association devoted to lawyers and in-house counsel aged 45 and under. AIJA has more than 4,000 members from 85 countries. It promotes professional cooperation and friendship among young, career-building legal professionals on an international stage through meetings, seminars, law courses and advocacy.
