The Regulation Amending the Regulation on the Consumer Arbitration Committees (“Regulation”) was published in the Official Gazette numbered 31095 and dated 10 April 2020 within the scope of the measures taken due to COVID-19 pandemic. The Regulation aims to prevent from any possible loss of the right that may arise in relation to the working procedures and principles of the consumer arbitration committees.

Within the scope of Regulation;

  • Convention of the consumer arbitration committees has been suspended from 10 April 2020 to 30 April 2020,
  • Terms for the submission of information and documents requested by the consumer arbitration committees, terms granted to experts for the preparation of expert reports and terms for the service of the decisions rendered by the consumer arbitration committees have been suspended from 13 March 2020 to 30 April 2020.

These suspended terms will begin to run starting from the next day following the end of the suspension term.  

If less than 15 days remain starting from the suspension date until the deadline for the submission of information and documents, the term will be extended for another 15 days, starting from the day following the end of suspended term.
